The Christian life cannot be reduced to a man-made list of things to do and not to do.

However, when God gives a specific list in Scripture, we must take careful note of His priorities.

Today we examined the Lord's to-do list found in 1st Thessalonians chapter 5.

Our God is a God of promises and is not just a God who makes promises.

Praise the Lord, he's a God who keeps promises.

It's impossible for God to lie.

Everything he foretells, he fulfills.

We've come to one of those promises today.

In 1st Thessalonians chapter 5 in verse 24 we read these words, faithful is he that

calleth you who also will do it. We are to be a faithful people, but if we are faithful, it is just us

being faithful to the faithful one. See, the truth of the matter is there are many times in my life

I haven't been faithful, but there's never been a single day that he's not been faithful to me. As a matter of fact,

we're reminded in scripture that even if we deny him, yet he abideth faithful, he cannot deny

himself. Faithfulness is not something he does, it's who he is. It is his very nature and essence. He is the ever-faithful God.

Faithful is he that calleth you who also will do it. Now we're looking at the Lord's list.

So here's one of the things God says as we near the end we must do. We must believe that God's going to finish what he started.

We must lean upon the faithfulness of our great God.

The Apostle Paul wrote to another church in a similar vein, stated it just a little differently, but it's powerful.

Philippians chapter 1 in verse number 6.

One of my favorite promises in scripture, it says, being

confident of this very thing that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
