Last class we talked about the start of the Civil War and some of the key land battles, right?

And we also compared the Confederacy and the United States in terms of size, manufacturing, military capabilities.

Today, we're going to kind of branch away and talk about things that are less known about the Civil War.

We're kind of going to get away from terror-centric narratives and focus on the things that I research and write about and get the

most excited about, naval warfare and guerrilla warfare. And we're going to even touch on some of my

own research. So to start out with, I'm going to share with you a story from my research.
