City Girls is a raunchy-D- from Miami, continuing the tradition of raunchy Miami rappers,

like Luke and Trina. I spoke to one half of City Girls, young Miami, because her partner, J.T., has been

in prison since June. She was due to stay until 2020, but now it looks

like she'll get out early next year. This has meant young Miami's had to carry the whole weight of the

group while her partner was gone, but she's kind of used to that. Her mom is in prison. She's been

gone two years, and you've got two more years to go, meaning she's got to be

the mother to her 14-year-old brother and her five-year-old son. That's a lot of weight on one

person's back, but there's a lot happening in her life to help her. This whole rap career

fell into her lap, she says. She made a half-serious disc song with J.T.

It got them a bunch of shows throughout Florida, which led to the legendary Atlanta music manager

Coach Kay calling her and offering her deal. He's developing her. And then next thing you know,

Drake calls and offers City Girls a slot on his song and my feelings.

And that record was hot.
