Will Cigna and Humana become one?

The UAW union is attempting to go electric, and crude oil futures are up as the delayed

OPEC meeting is set to begin.

Cigna and Humana are in discussions to combine.

That's the news from a Wall Street Journal report on Wednesday,

which cited people familiar with the matter.

The health insurers are talking about a stock and cash deal that could be completed by year end.

Cigna fell more than 8% on Wednesday while Humana declined 5.5%. Competitors also saw declines.

Molina fell 2.9% in Elevent's health, formerly known as Anthem, declined 2.1%.

CVS Health, which owns Aetna, dropped 3.5%.

Cigna has a market cap of about $84 billion while Humana is valued at $63 billion.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Humana is the number two Medicare insurer

after United Health, while Cigna's Medicare Advantage is much smaller.

While the two companies are in talks, will the deal pass antitrust regulators is another question?

T.D. Cohen says this merger would face lengthy regulatory delay.
