Thank you everybody for joining us. I'm Father Chris here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy,

and it's an honor to have you with us again for explaining the faith. And today's topic is one I have

been asked to do for years. I haven't, and today we're going to do it. And that is a talk on the church scandal.

And this is the reality that we need to be aware of

in both truth and myth.

And so I've done a lot of work on this

as provincial superior.

I have to know the laws. We worked over our

Presidium, our own guidelines, and we have to be very careful when anything comes up. So I feel

it's a topic that I can speak with some authority on, and we want to share with you how

the church, what's happened and how it's been

handled and so this is one thing they did not teach in seminary but i had to learn uh being provincial

so let us begin with a prayer in the name of the father and to the son into the holy spirit

amen heavenly father we ask you send the holy spirit down with a prayer in the name of the Father and to the Son into the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father,

we ask you send the Holy Spirit down upon us to bless our people watching, especially bless

any victims of abuse within the church, of any abuse of any kind, but especially within the church. No excuse, Lord.

Help help heal us. Help to bring us back into your mercy rather than to be guilty of not living

a life of faithfulness. And we ask Mother Mary that you wrap your mantle around us

and you guide us and lead us and we ask all this through Christ our Lord amen name of the father

into the son into the Holy Spirit amen okay so you see from the the first slide that we're talking about the church scandal,

but I'm going to present this from both sides. I am going to present what has happened,

and we know is fact of what is guilt. And then we're going to talk about some myth and false
