Hi, I'm John Stone Street, President of the Colson Center. Welcome to another edition, a very special edition of the Break Point podcast.

Easter is a really special time for us at the Colson Center, as it is for all Christians.

But it has special meaning for us because our founder, Chuck Colson, loved Easter so much.

As I told someone just the other day, Chuck was one of those people who never got over the fact that Jesus saved them.

So what brought that salvation about the work of Christ, the resurrection of Christ, was central and his heart and mind and his life.

It's why each and every year he went back to prison on Easter.

And he hosted a service there for the inmates in order

to tell them about salvation, a salvation that is possible in Christ and how the resurrection

was at the center of that salvation. And yet, every other day of the year, he strove and fought to help Christians

understand that the resurrection was not just the center of our faith, it was the center of all

of human history, and that that resurrection had global and cosmic implications. Just recently,

we found a copy of one of the last sermons Chuck Holson gave in prison on Easter Sunday.

It was back in 2010 at a prison in Michigan.

And I'm so excited on this very special edition of the Breakpoint podcast to share it with you.

So here from prison on Easter Sunday in 2010 is Chuck Holson.

One of the things that I get frequently asked because I've been going back into prisons 33 of the last 35 years, I always go on Easter.

Easter Sunday for me is the best time to be in prison because you really, you're in the empty tomb, you're in the place where Jesus has risen.

We feel the resurrection power in prison because we can really get it.

We really relate to Jesus inside the prisons.

And most people put on their best outfits and they go to church once or twice a year, Christmas,
