Christopher Atkins steps Behind The Rope. Christopher is here to chat about the full anthology of his career none the least of which was his breakout role in the classic 1980 film Blue Lagoon. Christopher talks about how he got this iconic role with no acting experience or no desire to act, what working on a desolate island in Fiji was like, meeting Brooke Shields for the first time, pressure from Producers to “fall in love” with Brooke and the media’s and public’s reaction - good and bad - once the film came out. We break down life immediately after when he went from a relative unknown to world wide super stardom, the “slow years” thereafter in the business trying to secure work, an unprecedented move to “do TV” in the juggernaut Dallas and his eventual decision to stop chasing the work and become a full time Dad. We talk addiction, recovery, the fleeting highs and lows of fame, pitfalls of the business and where it is today.
