Hey moms, how are you guys handling the holiday season? I know that it's a crazy time of

year. It's crazy for me too, and I have been recovering from surgery and so have been down

for quite a while, and I appreciate your prayers. I got a message the other day from a busy

mom who is in the same boat as most of us, and this is what she said. She wrote, dear Heidi,

we are not enjoying the Christmas season very much. My husband and I don't have much money,

and the pressure to buy gifts is weighing heavy on our heart. Do you have any advice or

encouragement? Well, I have a lot of thoughts on this particular subject, but I just wanted

to start off by saying, I totally understand the frustration of this mom. I grew up in the

80s, the 70s and 80s, and in the 80s, Christmas was all about gifts. Sometimes at our house,

we could not even see the tree because the gifts were so plentiful. I remember we would

come in to the living room and Santa, you know, who was AKA grandpa, would come in the middle

of the night with my grandmother, and they would fill the living room with gifts. And there were
