The first time I stayed at the historic Hotel Bethlehem was about six years ago.

I'd been to Bethlehem before and I knew a little of the history, but I'd never stayed at the hotel.

she knew I loved old historic hotels, places that weren't part of a chain where you could sip a cup of tea in a library or on the porch, hotels with history and legends.

that's where I always preferred to stay,
