you need to prioritize your social plans to preserve the things that you really want to do

this Christmas. But it turns out, newscasters were doing that already, because I did a little

shout out on social media to find out if you've changed your plans for Christmas as a result of

all this stuff about Omicron. And thank you very much to everyone who got in touch.

Hello, my name is Karen, I'm from North Yorkshire. I did have a 50s birthday party arranged for New

Year's Eve, and I had a light-up dance floor ordered, which is quite a lot of money and food

ordered. I've cancelled both of these now, but I will probably end up canceling the full party.

I'm disappointed to say the least, but I can always have a party later on in the year.

My name is Carl and I live in South East London. So my wife and I are supposed to be

traveling to New York City in a couple of weeks time. And we're facing this decision of whether

to cancel the trip or not before booking all of the COVID tests and everything that goes with that.

Keeping safe is our main priority, but on the other hand, the opportunity to escape what feels

like is becoming Omicron land seems far too good to pass up. Hi Adam, it's Kate here from Suffolk.

I haven't actually cancelled my Christmas day plans yet, but I have cancelled some forthcoming

plans next week in the hope that I'll get to Christmas Day and everyone will be COVID safe.

So for example, our work Christmas Day has been postponed to January, whether that will happen

who knows. And then I've just rearranged plans with friends. It feels really miserable, but

I think it'd be worth it if we can have a normal Christmas. I'm Joe from Birmingham and

tested positive for COVID today. Luckily, I'm feeling okay so far and have friends and family nearby.
