You know my favorite Carol is a silent night.

But what was silent about that night? I don't think it was all that quiet.

You know I hear people complain all the time about we need to put Christ

back in Christmas. It seems like the whole religious significance of Christmas

has been hijacked by the secular culture with all the

glitz and the glamour and we've seen the complete profanation of Christmas. I sometimes think Jesus looks down at this crazy people watching

what they're doing with their illuminated deer in the front yard and Santa Claus and all that.

And he's saying, look at this.

No matter how hard they try, they cannot get rid of my birthday. I love Christmas and I don't care how glitzy they get with it.

As long as we get to sing our carols and tell the story of the one who was born to redeem us.

He accomplished everything the father gave him to do.

He completed the mission for which he was born. You know, my favorite Carol is silent night.

But what was silent about that night?

I don't think it was all that quiet,

with all that noise going out there in the plains of Bethlehem with the heavenly angels singing glory to God and the highest.

It wasn't very silent, but it certainly was holy.

Because that's the night. God came in the flesh.
