Cold weather, some ice, and you're all here in the Christmas spirit. I don't know what you guys do to get in the Christmas spirit. Some people, they like to drive around town and look at Christmas lights. Some people like to curl up on the sofa, watch white Christmas. Some people like to carefully follow like an Advent calendar.

That's all great. Last Saturday, my oldest son and I, we got in the Christmas spirit by going to

watch some fights. There were some professional fights happening downtown. And shout out to Lincoln

Davis, one of his former football teammates in West Jessman's best. He won his second professional

fight last week. It was

awesome. Now, here's the deal. You don't have to be like a fight fan or have to ever even

gone to a fight to be aware of the concept of a walkout song because this has taken hold in

other sports, especially baseball. If you've been to a baseball game in the last 20 years,

you know that from

the professional level all the way down to what we call we ball with four-year-olds, everybody

gets a walkout song. And let me just tell you, you've not lived until you've seen a four-year-old

who can't find their way to the batters box walk out to the sound of thunderstruck. It's very intimidating.

They don't know the difference between first base and third base, but we got to give them a walkout song. This all originated

for a reason. And it came from boxing. And in boxing before the advent of like laser shows

and rap songs and sound systems, what a, especially a champion fighter would do is he would pick

one of his cornermen to be what was called his forerunner. And the four runner would go out in

front of the champion as he made his way to the ring, often holding his belt high above him.

And what he would be doing is he would be announcing to the entire arena, the champ is here. And so he would shout and scream his accolades, his achievements, and all of his titles and his defenses. Because when the champ is here, that changes literally everything. Well, here's what we're going to do today. We're going to take a look at the ultimate forerunner to the ultimate champion. If you got

your Bibles, then I hope you do. Go to the book of Luke. We're going to be right back where we were last week. We're going to pick it up in verse 12 today in chapter 1. And you may remember last week, we talked about this old dude named Zachariah. He was a priest. He was very elderly. He had another elderly wife named Elizabeth, and he was doing his temple duties, and he was accosted by an angel. And we left out some of the details last week. We're going to look at some of the details this week. So check this out with me. And Zachariah was troubled when he saw him, speaking of the angel Gabriel, and fear fell upon him. we talked about that last week but the angel said to

him don't be afraid man zachariah for your prayer has been heard and your wife elizabeth will bear you a son

and you shall call his name john and this is important hang on to john and you will have joy and gladness
