This is a big deal to me because I'd say in 20 years being in the film business,

like about four times I've made a phone call to someone and said can I just

meet you to meet you and Christine Bichon is one of those people who is my

guest today because she's been an inspiration to me from before I started

doing this.

Christine is clearly the most accomplished independent producer or one of the most of our lifetime.

Filmm filmmakers like Todd Haynes, Todd Solons, Kimberly Pierce, Mary Heron, she's worked with over and over for a very long period of time.

And there's so many more, she's produced films like Carol, Hedwig, Far from Heaven, happiness, kids.

A couple of those films are like among my favorite 100 films.

Like Carol and happiness in particular are movies that destroyed me. and if you've never seen happiness

imagine American Beauty and then imagine that were a good film.

And then you will have seen happiness.

So, and Christine's been nominated

for all the awards and has won a bunch of them

and killer films, which she started with a partner and is her company is

practically synecdicky for independent film from the 80s to now. She's also the

author of two of my favorite books ever about making movies,

shooting to kill and a killer life.
