conversation on feminism almost two years ago I think that was right

after the Kavanaugh hearings and many of those issues were fraught and

today we'll have a conversation on related but I guess

different fraught set of issues the culture cancel culture some call it the

new liberalism. Christine just remind people is now a commentary magazine was at the weekly standard

other has been at the New Atlantis author of two many many excellent articles and two really

fine books one on eugenics the more of a scholarly book I think, I'm preaching eugenics and the relationship,

as I recall, of religious leaders in eugenics in America mostly, right?

I think, yeah.

And then the second book more autobiographical my

fundamentalist education which I also highly recommend so Christine

thanks for thanks for being with me today and I'm looking forward to your explaining everything

that's going on.

Thanks I will do my best to elucidate our very strange cultural moment.

So what is our cultural moment?

I mean, and I guess I'm really thinking here of the everything from, you know, tearing down statues

to getting people fired for saying things for publishing op-eds to general spirit of a liberalism that one could argue has

existed has increased on both sides I think right now we see it a little more

ferociously on the left we also see it from the president on the other hand so how serious is it is it a big

moment is it just one of these things that happen spasm that goes comes and goes how do
