I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are discussing Christine from 1983.

Directed by John Carpenter with a screenplay by Bill Phillips based on the novel by Stephen King starring Keith

Gordon John Stockwell and Alexandra Paul in this film a teenage boy becomes

obsessed with his car and we soon find out the obsession goes both ways if you're new new to this show, we are going to have a spoiler-free discussion for the first 15 or 20 minutes,

but after that we'll play some transition music, and that's when you know we're heading into spoiler territory.

At that point, we'll walk through the plot in detail, and we will review the film.

Never seen it. And I think I've partially read the book growing up, but not the full thing. How about you?

No, never seen it, never read the book. And actually, I don't know if you know the full story behind this but a few weeks back

I had our friends on the discord server vote for which movie they'd like us to cover and the choices

were Last House on the left Salem's lot Christine or the others and they could vote with a little

emoticon reactions and uh Christine was actually third place behind Last House and the others.

But one of our users, Tyler LaHouce, kept campaigning for Christine by reacting to all of my announcements with a car emoji.

And he persisted, and I was so charmed by it that I thought maybe I should cover Christine anyway.

And then he persisted to the point where I need to cover Christine just to get him to stop.

It's gone from charming to seeing them in my dream.
