2003. Today's poem is by an American poet named Christian Wyman. He was born in 1966, and from 2003 to

2013 was the editor of America's oldest magazine of poetry. That, of course, is Poetry Magazine.

He is now on the Faculty of Yale University,

where he teaches religion and literature,

the Yale Divinity School, and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.

He has won numerous awards for his poetry,

including most recently the 2016 Aiken Taylor Award for Modern American Poetry.

His most recent collection, it was out in 2020, and it's called Survival is a Style.

The poem that I'm going to read today is called All My Friends Are Finding New Beliefs.

And I found this because of a Twitter thread earlier this week.

And so I'm going to share a few comments from a few poets on that thread here in just a second

after I read it the first time.

So again, as usual, I'll read it, have a few comments, read it one more time, and that

will be our episode for today.
