Now, I first got hip to Christian McBride.

Now, I first got hip to Christian McBride when I saw him live with the Pat Mathini trio.

It was Pat Mathini, Antonio Sanchez on drums, and Christian McBride on the bass.

And it was incredible.

There's only a handful of bass players that I know that really pull off both

the upright thing and the electric bass thing. Krish McBride is one of those cats. He's played

with everybody from Freddie Hubbard, Chick-Korea, Pat Mathini, James Brown. He's got this band that I used to listen to all the time called the Philadelphia Experiment,

kind of blending jazz with R&B hip-hop.

Pat Martino was on some of the stuff.

Questlove was the drummer.

It's crazy hearing him in this interview, I'm not going to split, him talk about his high school class

and just the amount of incredible, insane musicians that he grew up with.
