One of the topics about which I care deeply and is an area of research in writing for me

is that of violence in the Old Testament. And I came

across Christian Hofrider, whom I interviewed today via one of the trustees at Westminster Theological

Center, where I teach and am academic dean here in the UK. Christian wrote a book that I've been

looking for for a long time. I can't recommend it enough, and I think you'll discover from the interview that in his

wonderful Austrian way, Christian has a great deal of learning and pastoral wisdom and practical

experience to offer to connect his, you know, he does a good job connecting his research

on violence in the Old Testament to the kinds of concerns and questions that many outside and within the church have raised about this challenging issue.
