Here in the United States, we always set aside the fourth Thursday of November as a day

of Thanksgiving.

That's next week, as you know.

For most of us, it means eating a big meal with friends and family and maybe watching a football

game.

But the Bible makes it clear that giving thanks involves a lot more than a feast and isn't optional.

We received an email from a listener recently talking about a really hard time that she and her husband are going through.

And I love the heart she expressed,

even as they're in that valley, that difficult place. She said, as my husband struggles with a

diagnosis of multiple myeloma, which is cancer of the bone marrow, he and I are reminded that we

have Jesus. His presence and his grace are our sunshine and our strength.
