Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the OnScript podcast. This is Matt Lynch, coming to you from

Regent College in Vancouver. I'm a co-host along with Matt Bates, Drew Johnson,

Aaronheim, Chris Tilling, Amy Brown Hughes, and Jules Martinez-Olivieri. And we are so grateful

that you've tuned in. We're a podcast that seeks to pursue in-depth

discussions about biblical studies and theology and the intersection between the two of them.

And so we're a collective of biblical scholars and theologians working together toward that

And I'm here today with Dr. Christian Eberhard, who is a professor of religious studies at the University of Houston.

He graduated from Harvard Divinity School and has a doctorate in Hebrew Bible from the University of Heidelberg, as well as his second doctorate, his habit, sorry, happy, could you say that for me? Habilitation. Yeah, so I practiced that

actually, so I wouldn't sound silly saying German, but here we are. And that is not in Hebrew

Bible. It's an early Christian literature from the University of

Mainz.

Dr. Eberhardt is a seminar founder and convener for the Society for New Testament Studies.
