My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My immaculate mother, St. Joseph, my Father and Lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me.

And today, my Lord, we are celebrating the last feast day of the liturgical calendar.

The church, the Catholic church, has a calendar, more or less sometimes coincides with a civil

calendar, some feast days, some celebrations that are now, at least in the Western world,

they are so popular that they become part of our culture, like Christmas, Easter, some places.

And today is the last feast day of that calendar that started more or less a year ago with

Advent, starts with the coming of our Lord or the announcing of the coming of our Lord in the

Old Testament, and we walk through Advent towards Christmas and then the public coming of our Lord in the Old Testament and we walk through Advent towards

Christmas and then the public life of our Lord and then during the year different saints and

especially the unfolding of the mysteries of our faith such as the Trinity, Corpus Christi and others.

And at the end, the church encourages us to look up to heaven

and to celebrate a very special feast day that makes sense.

It's the feast day of Christ, the king, the king of the universe.

So it's a very strong statement, the king of the universe.

And again, in our faith, we celebrate your kingship, my Lord, is an honor to be a citizen of heaven, to be invited to your family, to your kingdom.

But again, in the Catholic faith, everything is very paradoxical or mysterious, to say the least.

Because what's the gospel of today's Mass about this king?

Imagine that you are non-Catholic, you are introduced to the Catholic faith recently,

and they tell you about this feast day, and you open the gospel and you expect to read something strong

...
