The mystery and the miracle of the birth of Christ was the fulfillment of the promise that God would be with his people.

The very name Emmanuel means God with us, and Jesus Christ is our Emmanuel. In this study, Scott Pauley reminds us of our

Acts chapter number 18 is the record of Paul at a very stressful and strenuous time in his ministry in Corinth.

In the middle of the night, hearing the Lord say to him, Acts chapter 18, verse number 10,

I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee.

You see how the Lord just turns his attention again off of man and back on the Lord.

I'm just going to tell you, that's the great struggle of all of life.

It is the great tension between looking to people and looking to God, looking away to Jesus,

look into Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Deliberately, take your eyes off of men, including yourself, and get your eyes back on

the Lord Jesus Christ, because Christ

knows what you need. Now, the same Christ that was speaking to the Apostle Paul in Acts chapter 18

is the same Christ that knows exactly what we need at this present time. And it was in that

knowledge of Christ's presence, the Lord'sarness, that Paul found everything that he needed.

Let's talk about a couple of those today.

First of all, knowing Christ's presence with him brought boldness.

Do you hear the words, be not afraid, but speak and hold not thy peace.

In other words, look, you don't have to be intimidated.
