We're almost at the end of our study of the Ten Commandments.

On this last program in the series, Father Ricardo cracks open the Eighth Commandment.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

It includes both the prohibition against telling a lie and the precept of telling the truth.

My brethren, this ought not be so.

So again, the commandment itself from Exodus and Deuteronomy,

you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. And then as always, the commandment is

amplified by Jesus, usually in the sermon on the Mount, as is the case here again, where Jesus

begins by saying, again, you have heard it was said to the men of old, you shall not swear

falsely, but shall perform to the lord what you have sworn
