Before being elected to the papacy, Colonel Joseph Ratzinger wrote a defining book,

The Spirit of the Liturgy.

He had served as the prefect of the congregation

for the doctrine of the faith for over two decades.

He was the man in charge of the liturgy of the church.

The first point is simply that all time is God's time.

And time is not irrelevant to Christian worship.

Why?

Because God has manifested himself in time.
