Summary

Christopher Tapp spent 20 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. After finally being exonerated in 2019 with the help of Angie Dodge's mother, Chris tried to rebuild his life and become an advocate for criminal justice reform. But in 2023, Chris was found dead in Las Vegas under suspicious circumstances. The man who had survived two decades of wrongful imprisonment couldn't survive the violence that found him after his release. This tragic epilogue to the Angie Dodge case raises difficult questions about what happens to exonerees after they're freed, and whether justice was truly served. Freedom came too late. And then it was stolen again. New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday! I'm Mandy. How are you? I'm doing great. Perhaps not as good as you, miss salty toes and

sunkiss. Don't talk about my feet. I know, why did I go to feet immediately? Immediately, I'm

horrified. Yes, I got to go to the beach a few days with my kids. My husband wasn't able to go. It was...

1:15.3

Oh, I didn't know that part. I didn't realize you got to just go with the kids.

1:19.1

Yeah. I called it a nine out of ten. It was really fun, except when it came to like putting the tin up and stuff. And then I was like, you know, that would have been nice. But we had a really good time. The kids enjoyed it. And, yeah, it was very relaxing. And yeah, just what I needed. I love that. Yeah, I love that. And it's obviously the perfect time of year for that. I'm sure lots of our listeners are either taking summer vacations or maybe

getting ready to take a summer vacation. So, yeah, I envy everybody who's getting to take a summer

vacation. I don't know if we're going to take an actual vacation this year. Okay, girl.

1:56.5

I know. Maybe you're not taking a vacation. You've taken some trips. That's true I always call everything a trip even if it's like a full on, full on vacation. You're like it was six days. So it was just a trip. That's okay. I don't know. I just to me a vacation, though, like, I mean, I guess what I do is vacationing. I know. There's no difference.

2:19.7

No, I get it, though.

2:20.7

It's nice when it's like a planned thing that you get to do that's different and out of the ordinary or whatever.

2:27.5

This was very much my husband's aunt has a beach condo and the person canceled the night before and said, would you like to go? And I said, abs to freaking loatly. Yeah, so it was very nice to be able to do that. And I am very appreciative. Either way, if you can get to the water, that's what I want to do this summer. And it's perfect. Awesome. So we'll get into the story for this week. As I was saying in the very beginning, it has been six years since we covered the tragic and brutal murder of 18-year-old Angie Dodge, which time remains a mystery to me. But I remember this story very, very well. And it's hard to believe that we covered it six years ago. Right. Yeah. At the time of our
