Summary

In last week's news roundup, we did a short segment about the Hallow App.

It's a subscription-based app that helps you pray and learn about scripture with celebrity spokespeople. It's also partially funded by Peter Thiel and JD Vance, people actively involved in building surveillance technology. We had some concerns!

A writer named Nancy Flanders did not appreciate the segment! She wrote an article for the anti-abortion organization  Live Action about our segment, strangely focusing on our criticism of Chris Pratt, even though he was just a minor part of the segment.

We love connecting with new audiences! To meet this new-found demand for our content amongst the anti-abortion crowd, we're taking a deep dive into the Hallow app.

We'll take a close look at their investors, those investors' connections to the Trump administration and creation of a surveillance state, privacy concerns with the app, and the motley crew of scumbags the app has hired as spokespeople.

We'll also talk about Chris Pratt a little more. We know what you like.

In our latest News Roundup episode, we were talking about how Nikki Minaj tweeted out her

enemies list and how funny it was. But Mike, thinking about it, I guess I also have an

enemy's list. And it is rare, but you know that since we started the podcast, we have done a few,

0:36.5

like just a handful of episodes

0:38.0

about my personal feuds. You do have a little bit of an enemies list. It reminds me of this

0:44.5

throwaway joke from an episode of Gilmore Girls when Rory and her roommate Paris are at college

0:50.4

and somebody wrote die jerk on their door and they're trying to figure out who did it.

0:54.9

And Paris is like, we should all update our enemies lists just to be sure.

0:59.3

Consider my enemies list updated for 2026 because we have a feud.

A few weeks ago in our News Roundup, we talked about the hollow prayer app. Now, you all know, the Roundup is casual.

It is just me giving my off-the-cuff feelings and takes in opinions. It is not meant to be a deep dive.

1:22.3

It's more just my takes on the stories of the week. And that week, I had some thoughts about the subscription-based

1:28.9

prayer app hollow and some of their spokespeople, like Gwen Stefani, Mark Wahlberg, and Chris

1:35.7

Pratt, which we'll get to in a moment. Episode goes out. Surprisingly, people had a lot of

opinions about the episode. You said that you got texts from people that you hadn't spoken to in a long time,

1:47.6

specifically asking about Chris Pratt.

1:49.6

Is that right?

1:51.3

It is, yeah.

1:52.5

Asking and sort of like applauding us for criticizing them, I guess.

You know, my friend Seth, who has listened to the show for years,
