Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!
This week Pip is joined by the Hardcore Listing homie and everyday life homie CHRIS GLASSEN!
You might have heard the pre-show shouts from Pip over the past few weeks, regarding a tie-in with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). CALM are trying to raise funds to maintain their literally life-saving service, a service which aims to help people end misery, not their lives. You'll likely have heard Pip and Chris refer to their dearly departed friend Jay, a friend whose legacy lives on and - as you'll always hear - is celebrated in the spirit of the relationship Pip and Chris (and Stu) have. Fun, mischievous, but built on a foundation of love and admiration.
With the 'Staylists' which you might have heard before some episodes lately, the aim is to present various awesome things that are basically worth staying around for. You're listening to a podcast hosted by someone who has dedicated his life to arts and culture, and so it makes sense that these elements are immensely important to the daily processing of life and what it brings. The heavy times, the lighter moments, all of it. So here, Pip and Chris deliver a powerful setlist of cool things that Jay would have loved over the past 20+ years he hasn't been here.
This isn't something you get on every podcast, this is a unique blend of two people combing through fun and funny times, grief, emotion, and all the while involving us all in the convo while also giving us some solid recommendations. If it isn't clear in the above, it is a very fun episode! Just good to know what the background is before you jump in. If you're not in a zone right now for references to grief and death, we've got back catalogue for days - and if you're affected personally by these issues, hit up CALM, and Samaritans are also right there if you need them. Love to you all XXX

| 0:00.0 | Hello. If you've not caught it yet, every week for the month of September, I'm giving a little |
| 0:05.7 | recommendation, a little cultural recommendation. I'm working with Calm, the campaign against |
| 0:10.8 | Levy Miserably for their Stay tuned month, where I'm trying to raise two grand. |
| 0:17.9 | So there's links in the episode descriptions. I'd love it if you could chip in. |
| 0:22.6 | But rather than it just be a boring, oh, please help out. Suicide's sad. You know my, a lot of you |
| 0:29.4 | will have heard my experiences with suicide and my connection to suicide over the years. |
| 0:34.2 | But what I thought I'd do is I'd give you a cultural recommendation each week, |
| 0:38.7 | a different run each week. The first two have been frankly fantastic. |
| 0:42.9 | Record scratch sound effect. I'm just interrupting my own intro here to say that we're over |
| 0:49.8 | two-thirds of the way to hitting our target, which is absolutely amazing. So we only have |
| 0:54.3 | £500 left to raise, which that means if just a hundred of you people listening to this |
| 1:00.9 | right now, if a hundred of you put just £5 in, that would make us over the target. And it's |
| 1:07.9 | also worth noting that £12.20 is what it costs to man a phone call |
| 1:13.8 | on calm. So if you're torn for an amount to donate, £12.20 sounds good to me, but a pound |
| 1:21.9 | sounds good to me. Okay, back to the actual interruption. And this one is one that's really something to stick around for because it's not out |
| 1:32.2 | until September 26th, but it's Brett Goldstein's upcoming feel, all of you. |
| 1:39.1 | Brett is one of my favourite people in the world. |
| 1:41.2 | I love Brett Dealey. |
| 1:42.8 | The cast is amazing with |
| 1:44.4 | Jenna Coleman, Imaging Poots, Zoe Ashton, Stephen Cree, two previous guests there. |
| 1:51.9 | And yeah, and Brett, it's called All of You. It's out on Apple TV on September 26th. |
| 1:58.8 | I don't know if it's getting a cinema release. This isn't like an advert for it. |
