So I got on with the Bulls and the job was great for me because I just was so involved with

So I sat across from him on the plane for two seasons, you know, traveling.

And he took to me and when he got the job as the GM, Jerry Krause had said he wanted to

and then he resigned. He retired. And John said, I know that was going to happen, and I'd like you to come and work for me. So it was all just kismet, got my foot in the door, and I just kind of kept my foot in the door through enthusiasm and energy and just being willing to do anything. My first year working in basketball operations, they said, hey, we want to build a database. Can you do that?

And I said, yeah, no problem. Easy. I had no idea what to do. I went back to my office and I was terrified and called a bunch of people. And sure enough, we built a template that a lot of teams still use today. They sold it.

It doesn't for me either, because eight years was as long as I spent in Chicago, and that seemed like an eternity in a good way. Wow. Yeah, we're good. And it's been eight years here. Yeah, it's crazy. Well, you're the right person to talk to. We thought of you yesterday because we know a lot about Matt Lloyd's past and his time with the Bulls as, you know, kind of a guy who grew up in the scouting department in terms of basketball and was here for some very good drafts with, you know, Todge Gibson and Jimmy Butler and Nicola Muratich and others all outside the top 20. But what we don't really know is about his personality.
