Rosanne, likened Valerie Jarrett to a resident of the Planet of the Apes,

and as a result, Rosanne was canceled the show, not the person.

He can't cancel a person, though it seems that everyone involved with the reboot of the show

would have liked at least to have canceled out the odious and volatile aspects of the star's personality

that was clearly a powder keg.

Rosanne, which I thought was a very well-done network sitcom that said something a little different

from almost everything else on the air, was executive-produced, written, and performed

by forward-thinking members of the Hollywood Creative Class, who really did have good intentions,

but also would have liked Rosanne Barr's propagation of fringe and indeed racist theories to have gone away,

and now go away, they all will, to ABC's credit, to their ethical credit, and their financial detriment.

But the interesting thing to me is the analogy between the power structure at ABC,

benefiting from the success of Rosanne, and the power structure of the GOP,

which benefited from their man getting into the White House, and then what happened afterwards.

So here's the analogy.

The titular figure certainly has some conspiracy theories they'd like you to know about.

The person at the middle certainly has a spouse, some untruthful attacks.

The person with the name on the enterprise or the building certainly has been called a

ground-breaking visionary who the establishment cannot countenance, therefore a rebel.

The person who has become this mononym and brand uses the argument of class to repeatedly demonstrate,
