So seismic news yesterday, late afternoon, early evening,

that Nick Sabin was stepping down at Alabama,

and we were talking about it earlier in the show that a lot of people tend to think that

Alabama has been nothing but Bear Bryant, Gene Stollings, Dick Sabin, but they forget about it.

It was like a 10 or 11 year

wasteland there in Tuscaloosa between Stollings and Sabin

where Tide fans had to endure Mike Du Boz, Dennis Franchoney,

Mike Schula, and then Saben arrived in 2007 and obviously rewrote the history books there

won six national titles and re-established Alabama as a force in college football.

So a huge loss for the tide going forward and unexpected news too.

Did you see it coming, Chris?

Not at all. I mean, I you know I thought that he just

completed maybe his best coaching job of his career at Alabama with what he had to do

with the team that had a lot of holes in it and question marks heading into the season.

Having them lose against Texas and struggle at South Florida only to get them back on track

and lead them to the college football playoff.
