Of course, Emo itself is such an incredible, vast genre of infinite cool bands that Emo was always going to happen.

Saves the Day was just a piece of that.

But I do feel incredibly proud to have been a part of some of the earlier stages of Emo.

This song will become the anthem of your underground.

Your two floors down getting high in the background.

Would you burn up before the water filled your lungs.

I'm your host, Matt Carter, and today's a cool one because we have a person who I consider to be a pioneer of the scene, Chris Conley from Saves the Day on, who is nothing if not original. His ability and willingness to listen and follow an inner voice led him to arrive early to the all Ages music scene and have great influence and also

to continue to evolve musically and not get stuck in a certain sound, even though commercial

success would have wanted just that to happen.

After having some releases on independent labels and setting the tone for the scene and

exploding, saves the day signed to a major label, DreamWorks,

and then turned in their album in Reverie,

which was another evolution of direction

and a departure from what radio, MTV, and fans were expecting,

leading them to quickly be abandoned by the label.

Nonetheless, it's Chris's and my favorite album of there.

So I really enjoyed getting to hear Chris's perspective on it all, and I think you will too.
