Let's go get an update on a crazy five days connected to Michigan football.

Really, since they finished their season, number three in the country, got to the final four of college football, and there's been a lot of chaos.

Chris Ballas from the Wolverine.com, the Michigan insider when it comes to everything.

Man, last five days were nuts, weren't they?

Mizarre is how I'd put it.

And we did a podcast with the Detroit News, Angelique Schengelis, and she said the same thing.

This is one of the most interesting segments of Michigan football history I've ever covered

since I've been on the beat for about 20 years.

And first Harbaal was leaving, and we had two sources that said he was planning that he spoke

with that day that said he was planning on signing a contract with the Minnesota Vikings,

which he was.

And that he confirmed that essentially with Mitch Elbum of the Detroit Free Press.

And Minnesota was actually up there preparing releases and stuff like that.

And the interview didn't go as planned.

And so he comes back.

And now you got some damage control to do with your staff, right?

And Josh Gattis is off to Miami, your offensive coordinator.

He wasn't going to be here much longer anyway, Bill, to be honest with you. I think this would have been his last year if he was still around. But, you know, now the optics of that aren't very good. People are going to say, well, especially with the way he went out with his tweet to his players saying that, you know, wasn't getting into support from the administration and don't be where you're not wanted. It became pretty clear that he understood that his future wasn't here. So now you've got to make sure that these guys that are left behind, if he was going to take half of them with them to Minnesota bill, and the other half were like, okay, what are we going to do? One of those guys was Gattis, and he left.

So now you've got to mend the fences between the staff and try to get that chemistry back. And to me, that is Jim Harbaugh's number one, two, and three priority here going forward.
