Welcome on into the Wolverine.com podcast. Clayton Safie here with Chris Ballas and Anthony

Broome. It is almost late July here. We're heading down on the Wolverine private jet to Indianapolis

on Monday night for Big Ten Media Day. So we're going to talk Michigan football, a little Big Ten talk.

We're going to get Chris's famous stories from some of the Big Ten media days past, not to, you know, not to show his age at all or anything like that. But he's been to quite a few of them, which I respect. I was at my first one last season, had a blast. So we'll get into all of that. We'll talk some storylines to watch. But first, just to kick it off, I wanted to just gauge you guys.

I mean, I know, Chris, we talked about this last year, how we were so anticipating this

thing because of what 2020 was and getting back in person was great.

But it just feels like even when I was just a fan watching Big Ten Media Days and seeing

all the coverage, kind of that unofficial kickoff to summer.

How are you guys

feeling heading into this thing next week it is exactly that and i remember talking to john borton

when i was your age and saying man i wish we could you know just pass forward through august and he goes

slow down young buck because you're going to have your hands full and enjoy every month of the summer,

which is what I'm looking forward to first.

But I am looking forward to getting down to Indianapolis because it is.

Talking to these guys and getting the lowdown on their teams and talking to the Michigan kids,

seeing their bodies.

Remember last few guys when we got there and we thought, whoa, Josh Ross was great.

Whoa, Aidan Hutchinson, these guys really seem to take it seriously and that wasn't always the case I remember

one year when I went there and I was asking Lloyd Carr about Gabe Watson and I said hey is

Gabe you know put in the time this summer and Lloyd kind of looks at me goes we'll have to see

you know it's like oh crap you know what Gabe's not going to reach me this potential is the way I read it. And sure enough, he didn't come back in very good shape. But to me, everything that I've heard is that these guys were just as committed this year as they were last year to making sure that they repeat this time, not coming off a two and four season, but that they defend their Big Ten championship. There are a few guys that we've heard of up front, especially, that still need to get some of that fat off their bodies, that summer fat. But overall, I think it's a good sign. And it's going to be fun to see these guys in person. Talk to Jim Harbaugh. There's going to be lots to talk about with him. And we'll see what kind of questions he gets from the Buckeyes and everything else.

But yeah, this is the time of year, guys, that we really look forward to.
