Welcome back to the Ballast and Skeen show, another edition, another year. Skeen's looking a little fuzzy. I think he's on his dial-up or something like that. Oh, I'm not. So got the Drew Carey glasses on. We're good to go, man. This feels like old times here, and it's been too long. It's been too long since we've done one of these. We finally figured out what we're doing. As you get a little bit older, the technology gets a little bit tougher, right? At least from my point of view, I don't think for skiing. But voting season over, man. What are we doing here? That's close. Settlement one was back. The first day of fall is September 22nd, I think.

So there's still a few weeks left of summer here.

It's not over with yet, but it's getting close.

Obviously, it's a little snappy cold now at night, so it's common.

How's the season, Ben, the boating season?

Good water, good weather.

After July finally got going, it was beautiful.

It was really nice up north. But it was cold right to the end of June, even golfing weather, not all that great because it was kind of, the wind blew out of the north, and it was chilly. But hey, it's what we do here in Michigan. We make the best of it. I know you were up north there. You got on the lake over there a torch with your family, so it was pretty nice. That was amazing. Everything was great. And for those who don't know, Steen actually shot 73 at Agameming in 40-degree weather with a, what do you want to talk to the nip in the air? And that was back in May. It was crazy.

So we got them the flag, a little flag to remember it by an unbelievable round.

And it was fun to watch.

But let's talk football, man, because here we are.

And a lot of question marks around this Michigan team.

And it's funny, you say nine and three to people and borderline playoff and you got half of a

segment that thinks you're nuts and then you got for being pessimistic and then you got the other

half that says there's no way you're always so negative ballast and it's going to be 10 and 2 or 11

and 1 with a true freshman quarterback and all these questions on the offensive line and at receiver.

So where are you, man, heading into this year, your thoughts on what your expectations are for this season?

Well, we talked about it when we were golfing earlier this year, Ballas.

I'm somewhere between 9 and 3 and down to 8 and 4 for two reasons the two two reasons why i kind of

waffled back and forth and they're kind of good and bad bad's not good it's uncertain so yeah we

all know that that college football is a quarterback driven sport if you don't have a good one you are

going to struggle as we saw offensively last year.
