Precious Father, we thank thee for mercy and grace.

We thank thee for our Savior, Jesus Christ, your precious son that you gave because you loved

us, and he gave himself because he loved us to pay for our sins at Calvary

and be raised again for our justification. We give all praise and glory to him and to thee

for the perfect word you've preserved for us, and by thy spirit we pray that you would teach us,

and strengthen our faith in Christ. We ask all this

in His precious and holy name. Amen. Chosen for the battle. Many believers struggle to know what

God's will is for their lives. We ask, what is my calling? Prosperity preachers often refer to

Abraham, David, Solomon, and even Job,

who were rich, though Job suffered much, as examples of God wanting us healthy, wealthy, and wise.

Overlooked are the prophets, apostles, and myriad of saints who endured great affliction to serve the Lord.
