Defining moments all of us have those defining moments in our life. Every one of us have gone through different times in our life where we make decisions to define who we are. Have you ever thought about that? Who are you? Who are you defined as and what are the decisions and choices that you've made to be able

to make sure that at the end of your life, your life is all that God wants it to be?

Those defining moments we're going to talk about over the next four weeks, so I hope you're

anticipating that and coming

and expecting God to do a great work in your life.

And today specifically I'm going to talk about choosing success.

Choosing success.

Now it's a choice that we make. Success is and so the first issue we want to talk about is what is success. I know sometimes in the Christian world that word success doesn't mean the same thing that obviously

it does in the world and sometimes that's a negative word but how many in here believe that

God wants you to be successful?

Yeah I do too.

I really do. I think God wants your life to be a success in the full term of what he wants it to be.

Choosing success. You might think, well, David, I mean, that's crazy. Who wouldn't want success who who wouldn't want to choose

success here's the point a lot of people aren't choosing success what they think

they're choosing as success really is ultimately going to help them to fail and

so I want us to talk about that today and talk about

these defining choices that we make in our own lives. Now let's talk about what success is. What is success?

Now if you go by the world standards, the world standards and values of success are a little bit different than ours, aren't they?

The world talks about success in a different way.

So basically the world says this, I want to be important.

So if you have power and prestige and if you have popularity, that's a sign

of you being successful. The more powerful you are, the more successful you are. The second thing
