Today we're going to be talking all about independence in a relationship because I feel like for me,

I've always been a very independent person and I think that now I'm a little bit more on the

attached side in my relationship and I want to talk about the positives of this, the negatives of this,

why independence in a relationship is important and all that type of stuff. I think that

there's a really big jump between being independent, being codependent, being reliable on your

partner. There's so many different versions of it and I'm really excited to chat with you guys

So we're uploading every Friday and every Monday. so you're starting your week off right and you're starting your weekend off right. So I'm really excited to be chatting with you guys today. I want to talk a little bit about my own relationship. If I feel like I'm independent in my relationship and moments that I feel like maybe I'm a little bit too dependent on my relationship, I met my partner about a year and a half ago now. So we haven't even known each other two years now and we are engaged right now. So we were just one of those couples that we didn't meet. We were complete strangers. And on the second we met and we went on our first date, that was it. Like we went on our first date and we kind of knew like, okay, this is the person

that I'm going to marry. So I want to get to know them more. And I've done a whole kind of like thing

about our story and my engagement. I do diary. So if you guys are interested in that, definitely go

listen to it. I talked all about our story. And he actually was on my podcast last year. But when we first started dating, I was super in my own world at this point.

I was the most independent version of myself.

Yes, I was single, but I also think that I had really fallen in love with myself.

So I was in a relationship pretty much my whole entire life for about five years. And when that

relationship ended, I was completely lost. And I was like, wait, like, I don't know what to do.

I don't know what I feel like by myself. Like, I didn't know what the relationship with myself

looked like because I was so dependent on a partner for so long. So when I was forced to be single for the first time, it was like, whoa, where do I go from

here?

What do I do?

Like, I truly did not know what to do being single for the first time.

And I just felt so incredibly lost.
