God often uses specific scriptures to guide you to himself and his perfect will.

These life verses are really guidepost for the journey.

Today we join Scott Pauli in looking at some of these passages. It is our prayer that you will enjoy the journey.

Do you have a verse of Scripture that has affected your life in a profound way?

I have several of them, and over the next few days I'm excited about sharing them with you

in hopes that a couple of things will happen.

One, that these verses will affect you in the way they've affected me,

but also that you'll be led to think about definite portions of Scripture

that God is used in your life. Many people refer to this as a life verse. They mean by that term

that this is a verse that has so affected you that now you're living by its guiding principle every day.

Now let's begin with the portion of scripture in 2 Timothy chapter 3.

Beginning in verse 15, the apostle Paul writes and says,

and that from a child, thou hast known the holy scriptures,

which are able to make thee wise into salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. There are a couple of

wonderful progressions found in these few verses we've just read.

For example, did you notice that we began in childhood? From a child, thou hast known the Holy Scriptures.

That's God's way, that from the very early stages of life, our sons and daughters, our grandchildren,

would hear the Word of God, would hide the Word of God in their

heart, would allow the Scriptures to affect them. Then, when you come all the way to verse number 17,
