Men, welcome to the man talk show. I'm Connor Veeton. Today is more of a public service announcement

0:05.4

than anything else. It's more of a reminder for you as a man about something that I think is

0:11.7

arguably one of the most important things that you should pay attention to in your life.

0:17.7

Because for myself, when I didn't pay attention to this, I lost. I suffered. And for the men that I

0:25.9

have worked with over the years, when they weren't paying attention to this, they suffered.

0:31.9

They struggled. And the simple truth that I want to bring back in, the simple reminder, the simple public

0:40.3

service announcement, as I said in the very beginning of this, is that not everyone, not

0:46.2

everyone has earned a place at the table of shaping who you are as a man.

0:53.4

Not everyone has earned a place at the table of determining

0:57.7

what you value as a man. Now, for most of you, you may not have ever questioned this. You may not

1:05.1

have ever thought about who you want to be sitting at the table of shaping who you are as a man. The people and the men who

1:12.4

are going to hold you accountable, the men who are going to call you forward into being a better

1:16.9

father, the men who are going to be an example for you to aspire to, that are going to ignite the

1:24.7

flame in you, the fire in you, of what's possible as a man,

1:29.9

what's possible as a leader, what's possible physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

1:35.7

Not everyone has earned the place at the table of having a say in who you should be and what you might be capable of. You see, most of the men that I've

1:47.9

worked with over the years have allowed other people's opinions to infiltrate them so deeply,

1:54.6

so deep in their psychology that they are, to some degree, not a free man. They're not a sovereign being because they are

2:05.0

trying so diligently to become, to shift, to act like, to say the right things based on what

2:15.3

other people want, even if those other people are not someone that you

2:20.2

respect, that you admire, that you trust. But we get caught in this web of trying to gain

2:28.5

validation, gain praise, gain admiration from people who sometimes we don't even want that praise or that
