On this episode we have Shavar Jeffries, the leader of Democrats for Education Reform.

I believe choice is freedom.

Low income people, people cultured always have choices.

And I actually think particularly for black people, we know precisely what life looks

like in the absence of choice.

I just think as a fundamental first principle that we ought to expand options on a whole variety

of different domains, education is just one.

And then we have the news with me, Brittany Cleansam, as usual.

This week, July 9th, Monday July 9th is my birthday.

It's my Jesus year, my 30th birthday.

And I've been thinking a lot about what my intention will be for the new year.

And there's this quote that I keep coming back to and the quote is, if it's meant for you,

you won't have to beg for it.

You will never have to sacrifice your dignity for your destiny.

And I just keep thinking about that.

Like the things that are meant for us are meant for us, which doesn't mean that we don't

fight for things.

It doesn't mean that we don't have desires and wishes and they won't push.

But we won't have to beg for the things that we deserve or like sacrifice parts of

ourself for our destiny.

And I'm trying to take that with me as I go into my Jesus year.
