Our guys today we've got a special guest on the podcast. Her name is Chloe Maloss. So she is a journalist and

an entertainment reporter for CNN and HLN. She's the granddaughter of World War II pilot Frank Murphy, who

authored the book, which is the main subject matter for today's interview. And that's luck of the

draw. Okay. So in this book, Frank Murphy details the almost unbelievable air war that took place

during World War II. Murphy was one of the few survivors from the 100th bombardment group,

aka the bloody 100th. Also in the book, Murphy details when his B17 was shot down over enemy territory

in Germany and spending, you know, almost two years in a German prisoner of war camp. The book is

actually being re-released by St. Martin's press and Chloe and her mother Elizabeth, Frank's daughter,

each wrote four words for the new version, which is a very interesting thing. And this name is going

to sound very familiar to Frank Murphy and some of these other names involved later on this year,

because this story, Frank's story, is going to be featured prominently in an upcoming Apple TV

Plus television show called Masters of the Air, which will release later this year. Like I said,

and the project is headed up by Steven Spielberg and stars Tom Hanks. So this is like a big deal,

like it's going to be a huge thing. And the fact that this book is being re-released, this book

was written by Frank Murphy. And the thing about this book, I read every page of it. And as you're

digging through it, it's incredibly detailed. So if you're a military historian type person,

it's very, very interesting because there's so much detail, but then there's also a narrative arc

because you see that with with these books. Some books just have a narrative. Other books are just

details. This is both. And so I actually gave this book to a buddy of mine that is a pilot and

you know, he's really nerding out on some of the details, whereas I was nerding out on the actual

story because it's a it's a crazy story of resilience because this was a young man that was a
