Now, here's a reason to choose one burrito over another. Last week,

Chipotle ran a new promotion that really paid off for as many as 75,000 fans. The Mexican Food Maven paired up with the digital wallet app Venmo for a sweepstakes that rewarded winners with

surprise deposits ranging in value from one to five hundred

dollars. All told, the chain gave away a quarter million dollars between March 12th and March 15th.

For those who aren't familiar, Venmo is a mobile app that allows people to pay for goods without cash,

but it's become especially well known as an electronic, typically free way to transfer money

from person to person. Think of it as an easy way for friends to split the dinner tab.

Chipotle painted the promotion as a no-brainer. Its Instagram account sported the tagline,

Don't Sleep on Free Money. And it was seen as a no-brainer for both Chipotle and Venmo.
