Here is a collection of three Chinese Mythological Stories. As it is the year of the rabbit I read the story of the Rabbit in The Moon. Many Asian countries believe the dark markings of the moon look like a rabbit and have a story on how he came to live there. The second story is about the Lady in The Moon. The companion of the Rabbit who is celebrated at the Mooncake Mid-Autumn festival. The episode ends with the Zodiac race, the story of the race of the animals and how the top twelve finishers were honoured with a place in the Zodiac calendar by the Jade Emperor. 0:25.4	So tonight I will start with a brief history of the rabbit in the moon and then read the

1:46.5	The legend of the Jade Rabbit is an ancient Chinese story that has been told to children
1:53.4	for decades.
1:55.0	In this mythological context, Jade means moon.
2:00.3	So when you say Jade rabbit or hear it, it really means moon rabbit to western ears.
