A 12 out of 10. That's how President Donald Trump rated his meeting with China's leader Xi Jinping.

On his way back to the U.S. after concluding his tour of Asia, Trump told reporters they reached an agreement on almost everything,

announcing a trade deal that will last initially for a year.

The U.S. has lowered the overall tariff rate on Chinese goods to 47 percent, after making

good progress on issues including soybean imports, rare earths, and fentanyl.

China's going to buy massive amounts of American soybeans and perhaps most consequentially,

China has agreed, Trump says, to ease the export restriction on rare earths, which are

crucial to producing semiconductors, those microchips that power all of our tech.

If the fine print backs up the sound bites and the quotes from the president, this is the news

that many people around the world have been waiting to hear.

A readout from Beijing's foreign ministry says that the two countries, quote, have reached

a consensus on important economic and trade issues, while China's Commerce Ministry says it will

properly address issues related to TikTok.

Just moments before his meeting with Xi, Trump threatened that the Department of Defense will

begin testing nuclear weapons immediately, marking a major shift in U.S. policy.

The Post on Truth Social referenced testing by rival nations China and Russia, but none

of the three nuclear superpowers have conducted any nuclear tests since 1996.

Russia recently claimed it tested a new nuclear-powered cruise missile.
