Hey everybody, Rob Mauer here should be a pretty quick episode today as we don't have

0:10.8

a whole lot of Tesla news.

0:12.0

We do have an estimated sales number for China for the month of February.

0:15.3

We'll take a look at that.

0:16.3

Also got an update on a very small recall, an accident involving a Tesla, and some new

0:20.8

autonomy permits being granted in California.

0:23.9

Tesla today was down 7.10% to $864.37, but a pretty decent overperformance to the market

0:29.8

of the NASDAQ was down 1.6% on the day.

0:32.8

Alright, let's hop right into those China numbers, so like we do most months, we're getting

0:36.3

an estimate here from Tesla China analyst, and I say estimate loosely because generally

0:40.4

these are spot on especially when they are coming after the end of the month, like they

0:44.5

are in this case.

0:45.5

I believe the accuracy in those circumstances has been a hundred percent, and in general

0:49.0

probably 80 or 90% so pretty high confidence that this number is accurate, and this account

0:53.9

is saying 28,000 for February 2022.

0:56.8

Now they always are looking at retail sales, so domestic China sales only, we'll get

1:01.2

the numbers from the China passenger car association officially reported in about a week,

1:04.9

that will come with export, those two combined add up to wholesale sales, which will be a lot

1:09.3

closer to the production level that we actually care the most about.

1:12.4

Anyway, assuming that this is pretty close to being accurate, if we put 28,000 in for

1:16.6

February 2022, we can see that month over month that would be a pretty decent increase,

1:20.7

up 45%.
