My guest today is Dr. Kai Fou Lee, an AI pioneer and investor. He developed a groundbreaking speech recognition

system as a PhD student and then Kaifu went on to have an amazing career trajectory which

has encompassed executive level positions at three of the five biggest

tech companies in the world, Apple, then Microsoft, then Google. He is now the

chairman and CEO of Synovation Ventures, a venture capital company based in Beijing, which manages

more than $2 billion worth of investments in the Chinese tech sector.

Now, Kaifu first joined us on the podcast in 2018 to discuss his book AI Superpowers where he predicted

China would overtake the US and AI and seize the competitive advantage.

So I'm really excited to reconnect and see how his predictions have fared and explore his latest insights.
