China made a rare public acknowledgement. This past week, Beijing confirmed on May 8th,

2026, that in May of 2025, they actually supported Pakistan, the Pakistani Air Force, with

personnel on the ground. And this was to support the Pakistanis when India launched Operation

Sindor. This past week on May 7th, Chinese State Broadcast TV aired an interview with a Chinese

engineer from the

Shingdung Aircraft Design and Research Institute responsible for developing the J-10. China has exported

the J-10 CE, that E being the export variant of the J-10, which is the fourth generation or 4.5-generation

fighter. Now, this is the first time that the J-10 was deployed in major combat operations.

And definitely the first time a Chinese fighter is engaged in high-intensity combat.

Now, the engineer went on to describe what it was like working on the ground in Pakistan.

He was one of the first people that China sent to Pakistan in order to support the J-10 operation.

He said at the support base,

we frequently heard the war of fighter jets taking off and the constant whale of air raid sirens.

By late morning, in May, the temperature was already approaching 50 degrees Celsius. He said it was

an ordeal for us, both mentally and physically. He added that his team of Chinese specialists in

Pakistan were driven by a desire to do an even

better job with on-site support to ensure their equipment could truly perform at its full

combat potential.

Now, Pakistan did lose multiple fighters in this conflict, but they were downed by the Indian

S-400 long-range surface-air missile systems, which is exported by Russia.
