This is who we are. For all who trusted in Jesus as the Savior and

Lord of your life, this is your identity today. You are a child of God. You have God as your father.

I've shared this before in one of these Pray the Word

episodes, but it's one of my favorite quotes,

so I'm sharing it again.

It's from J. I. Packer, his book Knowing God, one of the most influential books in my life, for sure,

the chapter he writes on adoption

and the fatherhood of God is worth the whole book but there's I mean every other chapter is awesome too but he asked the question what is a Christian and he answers it he says the richest answer I know is that a Christian is one who has

God as father. If you want to know how well a person understands Christianity, find

out how much he makes of the thought of being God's child

and having God as his father.

If this is not the thought that prompts and controls his worship and prayers and his whole outlook on life,

it means that he does not understand Christianity very well at all.

What a quote! So is this how you understand Christianity?

You have God as your father.

You are his child.
