So let's jump straight in.

Vaccines expose the immune system to antigens from a pathogen, which triggers an immune response

that creates some immunity to that pathogen, reducing the risk and severity of future infections.

The UK vaccination schedule is constantly changing.

Always look up the latest schedule when giving vaccines. We're going to go through the

routine childhood vaccination schedule in the UK currently from January 2026, although

if you're listening in the future, this may have been updated.

Currently, the UK vaccination schedule involves giving vaccines at aged 8 weeks, 12 weeks,

16 weeks, 12 months, 18 months, 3 years and 4 months, 12 to 13 years, and at 14 years.

At 8 weeks, children receive the 6-in-1 vaccine, which includes diphtheria, tetanus, potasus, polio,

hemophilus influenza type B, and hepatitis B.

They also receive the meningococcal Group B vaccine and the live rotavirus vaccine, which is given orally.

The vaccines at 12 weeks of age are the same as at eight weeks of age,

with the 6-1, Meningococcal Group B and rotavirus vaccines.

At 16 weeks of age, they receive the 6-1 vaccine and the pneumococcal vaccine.

At 12 months, they receive the pneumocococcal vaccine. At 12 months, they receive the pneumococcal vaccine,

meningococcal group B, and the MMRV vaccine. The MMRV vaccine contains measles, mumps,

rubella and varicella, which protects against chickenpox.

If the child was born, on or after the 1st of July 24, at 18 months they receive the 6 in 1 vaccine and the MMRV vaccine.
