Welcome back into another edition of the arrowhead pride chiefs training camp report day 18 of full team practice has wrapped in St Joseph Missouri.

There's only one more practice to go and I'm sure Pete Sweeney is glad to hear that and before I actually welcome Pete on I want to let you guys know that there will be no arrowhead pride editor show today.

We had some conflicts come up later in the afternoon.

So no editor show this week it'll be back next week after the chiefs preseason game number two preview previewing their preseason finale and catching up on all the news.

Luckily tonight chiefs coast to coast is live at six p.m. So we'll get you caught up on everything that you need to know.

So without further ado let me welcome in the leader of arrowhead pride Pete Sweeney one day to go one more drive to St Joseph Missouri how we feeling.

Yeah feels pretty good and I got to say normally when we're up here all month it's just consecutive days of really really hot weather.

This is probably the most comfortable training camp has been all together ever and that is quite a feat just considering how long it was so enjoyed the cool weather in St. Joe this year.

Yeah it's been nice around the Kansas City area and up there the weather's great with all the storms and stuff that we've been having.

I don't really know what it says about the state of the world and everything but nice to have a few cool days during chiefs trading camp not practicing on Wednesday defensive tackle

Chris Jones yet to report obviously you'll know as soon as we do if the chiefs work out a long term deal with him cornerback Nick Jones also out of practice wide receiver Nico Romeo also out corner back with Jerry sneak

Tony turns on ward. Yeah you didn't okay there Pete get a little laugh here the back wrap also offensive lineman Nick Allegretti left practice early with the shoulder injury but other than that wide receiver Justin Ross was back on the field and looks

pretty good in today's practice so what were the takeaways from Wednesday's session. Yeah I think the injury bug is kind of caught the chiefs a little bit here and you're hoping it isn't it isn't significant injuries hoping that it's not keep players with the chiefs.

I continue to wonder about the Jerry's need I continue to wonder about Kirk Wharton but they haven't placed on any lists at this point but you never want to have players out for this long and the knee being mentioned we know that it's been a swelling issue for the Jerry's need.

Kirk Wharton had been on the field after a repair of his ACL and it's a little alarming that he still hasn't retaken the field I believe it's been about four or five practice days the game included.

Isaiah Pacheco continues to look pretty good and then we just will end up seeing about Chris Jones and Nico Romeo and obviously there's a couple of other guys here but yeah good to see both Justin Ross and Mayor Spithmar said back on the field today after some scares yesterday.

So I want to ask you a little bit about Pacheco and Kirk Wharton but first sticking with the wide receivers obviously.

So Ross had a touchdown catch today after leaving early obviously huge dive relief for the Kansas AG's fan base but I think the guy that maybe after the first preseason game we should be talking about a little bit more and I know Justin Ross is the hype train player from this training camp and everybody wants to see him succeed.

It's a great story across the NFL if he finds a way to have an impact this season for the chiefs but rookie wide receiver Rishi Rice got some work with the ones and the chiefs first preseason action and then he was also in the mix on Wednesday catching a touchdown during practice left the field for a little bit head to the medical tent but then came back out was back on the field seems fine.

I feel like we're kind of overlooking Rishi Rice for the Justin Ross hype right now when rice is getting more looks with the first team.

Yeah and I'm going to sound like a little bit of a hater here because I know everyone who listens to this knows that I didn't really feel like Justin Ross would be on the team ahead of camp.

I had to see that he would be a part of the first team offense and we have had seen him take Sam's with Patrick Holmes and be stay healthy.
